AGARTALA:

The mortal remains of martyred CRPF jawan Shambhu Roy were brought to his native place in Tripura on Tuesday.

Roy was among the 22 CRPF jawans killed in a Maoist attack at Sukma in Chattisgarh on April 3.

Shambhu Roy is the son of Deepak Roy, a resident of Bhagyapur village in the North Tripura district.

His dead body arrived at MBB airport in Agartala on Tuesday morning and was received by top government officials.

Member of Parliament representing West Tripura parliamentary constituency, Pratima Bhowmik, was also present at the airport to receive the mortal remains.

The MP paid tributes to Roy, who selflessly fought the Naxals on that 'ill-fated' day. A guard of honour was given to the martyred jawan.

The mortal remains were later taken to his home in Bhagyapur village.
