IMPHAL:

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced that the State Government would conduct a mass vaccination campaign in Manipur from April 11 to 14.

The CM said they would make the facilities for vaccination available to all the health care units, including private hospitals during the campaign.

Singh stated that the percentage of vaccination in the state for individuals above the age of 60 is low and urged the public to get vaccinated.

With the rising concern over the alarming rate of positive cases in some states, Singh stressed the need for 100 per cent vaccination of health care workers and front-line workers as they are responsible for containing the virus.

Singh also stated that the State Government had been taking up necessary measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 and urged the public to adhere to all SOPs and COVID appropriate behaviour.

He also appealed to the public to get themselves tested if they experience any symptoms.

Earlier on April 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructed the states to conduct mass vaccination drives amid the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
