Manipur govt felicitates Olympic medalist Mirabai Chanu

The Government of Manipur on Tuesday felicitated Olympic medalist Mirabai Chanu at the City Convention Centre in Imphal.
As announced earlier, the state government rewarded Chanu with Rs 1 crore and also handed over an appointment order of Additional SP (Sports).
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that the entire state is filled with joy over her feat. Chanu is the 'Pride of the Nation' and an inspiration for the upcoming generations.
Taking to Twitter, Singh said, We are filled with so much joy to felicitate the “Pride of our Nation” @mirabai_chanu at City Convention Center Imphal today. As announced, the State Government has extended a reward of Rs 1 Crore & also handed over the appointment order of Addl. SP (Sports) to Mirabai Chanu.
Earlier during the day, the streets of Imphal witnessed crowds in large numbers who had gathered to welcome the Olympic champion.
A sense of jubilation prevailed among everyone to welcome Chanu who had made the entire nation proud through her achievement.
