ADC polls will be conducted by June 25: Manipur Govt
A recent press release issued by the Additional Chief Secretary (Tribal Affairs & Hill), Letkhogin Haokip, stated that the Government of Manipur would conduct the Autonomous District Council (ADCs) elections by June 25.
The decision comes in the wake of a meeting between the All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM), the Demand Committee for Creation of ADCs, and relevant government departments.
However, ATSUM stated that the decision to conduct the polls by June 25 is a "government sided decision" and that no such agreement was made between the State Government and ATSUM during their discourse on Monday.
"The ongoing agitation of ATSUM for the demand of issuance of notification for the general election to ADC will continue as announced," the union stated.
