Congress appoints Ajoy Kumar as AICC in-charge of Sikkim, Nagaland, Tripura
The Indian National Congress on Wednesday has appointed former parliamentarian Dr Ajoy Kumar as All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of the northeastern states of Sikkim, Nagaland and Tripura.
An official press release by the party said, "Congress President has appointed Dr Ajoy Kumar as AICC in-charge of Sikkim, Nagaland and Tripura with immediate effect".
Taking to Twitter, Kumar thanked party chief Sonia Gandhi, former party chief Rahul Gandhi and some other party leaders for his appointment.

Kumar, who is a former IPS officer, had earlier served as Jharkhand Congress chief.
