Bangladesh PM, FM congratulate Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Sarma was on Monday sworn-in as the 15th Chief Minister of Assam at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati on May 10.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has extended her congratulations to Himanta Biswa Sarma on being sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Assam. 

PM Hasina has invited Assam to reap the benefits from Bangladesh's Drwth trajectory given the warmth-depth diversity of Bangladesh-India relationships. 

"PM #SheikhHasina invited Indian State of Assam to reap benefits from #Bangladesh's growth trajectory in view of warmth-depth-diversity of BD-Ind relationships while congratulating @himantabiswa as new CM of Assam and wishing him success in leading his pluralistic state," Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh tweeted. 

Responding to the tweet, the Assam CM said, "I highly value & cherish good wishes of Hon PM #SheikhHasina. Assam is committed to pursue the vision of Hon PM Sri @narendramodi who recently said while in Bangladesh 'Let India and Bangladesh move forward together.' We shall continue to gain mutually."

Similarly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh Dr AK Abdul Momen also extended the Assam CM on assuming office and hoped that under Biswa's leadership, Assam will progress towards greater peace n progress.

"FM Dr. Momen congratulated CM  @himantabiswa on assuming office, noted #Bangladesh´s centrality in enhancing connectivity for India´s North East n increasing relevance in India´s 'Act East Policy', & hoped under his leadership #Assam will progress towards greater peace n progress," the Ministry tweeted. 

"I thank FM Dr AK Abdul Momen for his very warm good wishes. We all share the vision of Hon PM Sri @narendramodi who said recently in Bangladesh that the journey of both countries in the next 25 years in the 21st Century is crucial," Sarma tweeted in response.
