Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal says Northeast emerging as country's growth engine under PM Modi
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday said that the Northeast has become the centre of growth under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.
Attending a felicitation programme in Dibrugarh after the conclusion of the three-day Jan Ashirwad Yatra, Sonowal said that PM Modi rediscovered the immense potential and possibilities of Northeastern states, and the induction of five ministers from the region in the union cabinet reflects his love and commitment to the people of the region.
" Narendra Modi not only loves the Northeast but he is also committed to the growth of the region," Sonowal said adding that there is a huge scope of growth for the region under Modi's leadership.
Coming down on the Congress for having neglected the region all this while, Sonowal pointed, "After the misrule and neglect of the Northeast by the Congress government during their 60 years rule, the Modi government, in just seven years, has transformed the entire region."
