Six arrested from Guwahati for running drug racket

GUWAHATI:

Guwahati police, in a series of operations conducted on November 18, arrested six persons and recovered 6.29 gm of heroin, 15 stolen smartphones, a cash amount of Rs 38,020, 10 vials, and 40 polythene bags from their possession.

The team first arrested Birgu Singh Bordoloi of Housing Colony, Noonmati, and Hirakjyoti Nath of Nandangiri Path. Based on their statement, police further nabbed three others - Md Hanif Ali, Md Sirajul Islam and Md Suraj Jaman Sekh - from Noonmati.

Further interrogation of the accused led to the arrest of one Alok Gogoi of Ghanashyam Basti.
