Assam: Himanta asks PWD to complete Dispur Supermarket flyover work by Sept 30

GUWAHATI:

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to complete work on the under-construction flyover at Dispur Supermarket here within September 30 this year.

In a meeting to review the progress of flyover construction with the department officials on Sunday(May 16), Sarma also directed expeditious construction of all other flyovers in the state.

The Chief Minister also directed the finance department to release required funds at the earliest for the three ongoing flyovers at Supermarket, Serabbhati and Maligaon in the city.

He stressed on the need to speed up construction of the Maligaon flyover and directed the commissioner of police to prepare a traffic plan to reduce congestion in the area during the construction period.

Sarma also instructed the PWD to complete the piling of Serabbhati flyover during the curfew period imposed because of COVID-19 and prepare the detailed project report (DPR) of the flyover connecting Ambari with Noonmati in the city within three months, including the traffic plan.
