DIBRUGARH:

At a time when the country is grappled with COVID-19, a group of dedicated cyclists, by the name of Relief Riders, have come forward to assist people in their fight against the pandemic.

The volunteers of Relief Riders have spread out across Guwahati to render their help to the needy, aged and COVID-19 patients by delivering essential items and medicines at their doorstep free of cost.

"We have seen how the pandemic has affected the people. So, we have decided to help the needy with essential commodities at their doorstep," said Arshel Akhter, the Bicycle Mayor of Guwahati and a member of Relief Riders.

With eleven volunteers across Guwahati, the group executed their first operation on May 17.

During the non-curfew hours, the cyclists deliver vegetables, fruits, ration, prescribed medicines, etc. Although they can not help with oxygen cylinders or medications related to COVID-19, they ensured to deliver essentials at people's doorstep.

The Relief Riders have released a set of numbers to avail their services, which are as follows — 8638379426, 7099032155 and 9405617458.
