Assamese film “God on the Balcony” to be screened at Shanghai Intl Film Fest
Assam’s acclaimed director Biswajeet Bora’s film - God on the Balcony has earned recognition across the globe despite the restrictions imposed due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
Additionally, the film has been selected for the prestigious 24th Shanghai International Film Festival 2021 to be held from June 11 to June 20 this year.
The film has earned popularity in many other international film festivals such as the 25th International Film Festival of Kerala, 24th Kolkata International Film Festival, 19th Pune International Film Festival, 20th Imagine India International Film Festival, Madrid and 19th Dhaka International film festival.
Over the last year, the movie has been screened at the Kolkata International Film Festival – where Bora won the Best Director Award in the Indian Language Films category.
Produced by Noorul Sultan under Maina productions, the movie - God On The Balcony, is a snapshot of death caused by governmental apathy.
The movie, starring Harish Khanna, Pranami Bora, and Porinandhi Jima Sultana, is set to be released in October 2021.
