Assam: Vaccination drive for 18-44 age group begins in Dibrugarh

The drive kickstarted at 244 centres across Assam on Friday morning, according to the health department.

The much-awaited third phase of the vaccination drive for adults aged between 18-44 years started here in Dibrugarh on Friday.

The drive kickstarted at 244 centres across Assam on Friday morning, according to the health department.

Altogether 150 people were vaccinated on the first day at DHSK Commerce College in Dibrugarh, one of the dedicated centres.

Public were seen standing in queue across many centres in Dibrugarh to get the vaccine, the process for which was scheduled to start on May 1, 2021, but had been delayed.

The health department had earlier issued SOPs directing the officials on duty to conduct the drive smoothly.

"We have started the vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group from today at DHSK commerce college centre. A total of 150 people were given the vaccination at the centre. The process was started from 9 am and it will continue," said a doctor from Dibrugarh.
