Assam: AMCH decides to shut down OPD services for two weeks
After much discussion with the Dibrugarh district administration, authorities of Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) have closed the Outdoor Patients Department (OPD) service for two weeks with immediate effect and until further order.
However, during the period, regular emergency services will continue as before round the clock.
Steps have been taken to depute the medical team in Covid wards.
According to sources, the number of regular patients in OPD decreased in the last few days in view of the Covid situation.
Further, during the period all staff of AMCH, Dibrugarh, are directed to remain present in their respective department for rendering their services.
“We have decided to shut down the OPD services for two weeks in AMCH after rising cases of Covid-19,” said an official of AMCH.
On Thursday, 456 Covid-19 positive cases were detected in Dibrugarh district.
