Assam: Urban Development Minister inspects ADB project in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH:

Minister for Urban Development and Irrigation Ashok Singhal on Monday inspected the ongoing Solid Waste Management site funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Dibrugarh.

Singhal attended a meeting with the state and district level officers and discussed the ways for inclusive development and people-friendly urban bodies.

Speaking to media persons here after the meeting, Singhal said, "We have discussed steps taken to implement the ongoing schemes of ADB projects in Dibrugarh. I have reviewed the ongoing work of Solid Waste Management and drain work in Dibrugarh."

In 2017, the state government had sanctioned an amount of Rs 75 crore for the construction of the plant at Lekai, 5 km away from Dibrugarh town, under the Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Programme.

A deadline of May 1, 2020, was set for the completion of the project.
