Assam special DGP chairs meet with Rhino Protection Task Force in Kaziranga NP

Assam special DGP GP Singh on Thursday chaired a meeting with the Assam Rhino Protection Task Force’s on “protection of Rhino in Kaziranga landscape” at Kaziranga range in Kohora.

Various strategies were also discussed in the meeting to ensure zero poaching .

The Assam government already directed to notify the Special Task Force to speed up anti-poaching measures in UNESCO’s world heritage site in order to stop rhino poaching.

It may be noted the government has taken tough measures to stop poaching activities in Kaziranga National Park.

“GP Singh directed to work in coordination to stop wildlife crime in Kaziranga National Park. Several important issues regarding the park were discussed in the meeting,” said a forest official of KNP.

Recently, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma directed to take urgent step to expedite justice delivery system against the nabbed poachers against whom charge sheets have been filed by engaging a special prosecutor.
