DIBRUGARH:

The Dibrugarh unit of the Rashtriya Sawyamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been organising various COVID-19 vaccination camps and also helping the government in conducting COVID tests across the state.

The RSS members on Sunday organised a similar Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) camp in the tea garden areas of Chabua.

Altogether, 25 Sawyamsevaks of Chabua Khanda, led by Harisharan Verma started the drive and distributed over 5000 masks and conducted 700 RAT tests at various localities of Chabua.

"As a voluntary organisation, it is our duty to help the nation in times of crisis. The second wave of COVID-19 has affected our nation and several people have died due to the deadly virus. Our organisation will always stand with the nation at such trying times. Hence, we conducted a drive in the tea garden areas of Chabua," Verma said.

"Today, we distributed masks in the Panitola area and in the days to come we will carry out more drives to make people aware of the COVID-19 virus," Verma added.

Verma said, "Most of the people in tea garden areas hesitate to do RAT test because they think if they do the test they will be diagnosed with COVID. We convinced the people to come out for the tests for early detection and treatment of the virus."

The organisation also distributed masks and sanitisers at Rangamati, Bamuni Hiloidhari and Morcha Gaon areas of Chabua.
