GUWAHATI:

A handwritten poster “warning” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was found by Assam Police pasted on a wall at Fancy Bazaar, Guwahati on Tuesday.

The poster written in Assamese translates to "Himanta Biswa Sarma sabhdhan (beware) Police, Gabbar". The poster has gone viral on social media and the police have begun investigating the matter.

While not much detail is known about the poster, many people are speculating that it might have been put up by someone unhappy with the recent rise in police encounters in the state.

The incident comes a day after Assam Police arrested one Imran Shah Choudhury, for forging the Chief Minister’s signature from New Delhi.
