Assam police bust fake currency racket in Chabua and Moran, four held

Assam police on April 12 busted a fake currency racket in Chabua and Moran districts and arrested four persons in this connection. 

The Chabua police led by Officer-in-Charge (OC), Tulumoni Duorah, seized fake notes amounting to approximately Rs 26 lakh. 

The three out of four accused involved in the racket have been identified as Bipul Gohain, Utpal Saikia and Sanalata Chakraborty.

Police busted the racket at Chabua, where fake notes amounting to Rs 2 lakh, were seized from the possession of the accused. 

After interrogating them, police raided their premises at Moran and seized the remaining amount of fake currency.

The three persons, including one woman associated with printing and circulating fake currency, were arrested after the seizure and sent to judicial custody.
