Assam: Minor killed in grenade explosion in Tinsukia

An eyewitness reported that the minor was riding a bicycle and passing through the roadside when the grenade exploded.

DIBRUGARH:

A twelve-year minor was killed in a suspected grenade explosion at Kathakathini, Jagun in Upper Assam's Tinsukia district on Tuesday morning. 

The deceased was identified as Suraj Hajong of Kathakathini village in Jagun.

Sources said the miscreants placed a grenade at the roadside in Kathakathini, which had exploded abruptly.

An eyewitness reported that the minor was riding a bicycle and passing through the roadside when the grenade exploded. 

Right now we are yet to ascertain the facts. But it was a suspected grenade blast. We have started the investigation,” said Tinsukia Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Nimbalkar. 

Nimbalkar and a team of policemen from Tinsukia rushed to the spot to took stock of the situation.

We don't know how the grenade exploded or who placed the grenade at the roadside. The investigation is on, said a police source.
