DIBRUGARH:

In a bid to streamline the functioning of the state revenue administration, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting with the Revenue and Disaster Management Department officials on Saturday.

Issues such as the survey of non-cadastral villages, drafting of service rules, inter-district transfer of lot mandals, simplification of partition of ejmali patta, and hereditary transfer of land etc., were discussed during the meeting. Sarma added that a mission titled “Mission Basundhara” would be launched in this regard on October 2 2021.

Advocating for total reforms of the state’s revenue administration, the Chief Minister asked the department to complete all pending partition and mutation cases in a mission mode by opening a portal, organising Rajah Adalat etc., within the next few months. Sarma further stressed that all the pending matters should be worked out by October 10.

Sarma also directed the department to achieve the goal of completely digitising the land records of the state by 2023.
