Assam: Flag march held in Dibrugarh to enforce COVID norms

DIBRUGARH:

The district administration of Dibrugarh conducted a flag march to create awareness about COVID appropriate behaviour among the public.


The flag march led by Additional SP, Bitul Chetia, started from Thakurthan and culminated at Jokai area.


It was informed that during the second wave, the novel coronavirus has spread from the urban areas to rural pockets of the district.


On Thursday, the district reported 141 COVID positive cases and four COVID-related deaths, compared to 100 cases and zero deaths on Wednesday. 


Dibrugarh district has recorded 21,453 COVID positive cases and 307 deaths during the second wave, and currently, there are about 1,067 COVID patients admitted at various COVID care facilities of the district.


"In some areas, people don't follow the basic COVID protocols. Hence,  the district administration is creating awareness among the public to rigorously follow COVID appropriate behaviour at all times," said an official.
