Assam: Five houses gutted in fire, properties worth lakhs destroyed in Dibrugarh

According to locals, the fire initially started from one house, which was locked for many days, and later engulfed other houses.

As many as five houses were gutted in a massive fire at the Naliapool area of Dibrugarh on Monday.


According to locals, the fire initially started from one house, which was locked for many days, and later engulfed other houses.


"Properties worth lakhs have been destroyed in the fire accident. The fire brigade arrived and doused the fire after it set ablaze many houses," an eyewitness informed.


Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra informed that the immediate cause of the fire could not be ascertained, though, nobody was injured in the fire.


It may be mentioned that in a similar fire on June 30, close to 30 houses were gutted at Tinkonia in Dibrugarh.
