Assam down town University launches One-crore scholarship programme

Students who have appeared in the Class 12 exams from any streams of arts, science or commerce, or have already obtained their results, are eligible to register for the scholarship test that is scheduled on July 25.

GUWAHATI: 

A mega scholarship programme of up to Rs one crore for students across the country has been launched for the first time by the Assam down town University (AdtU), stating that the institution has a variety of placement driven courses.

Chancellor of the university N N Dutta informed that the university has decided to provide an opportunity to deserving students across the country, to pursue the courses that would help them fulfil their dreams amid the pandemic.

"The scholarship will help the meritorious students from humble backgrounds and lessen the financial burden on the parents. It is an initiative to give back to society and make it a better place," the Chancellor said.

According to the AdtU statement, students who have appeared in the Class 12 exams from any streams of arts, science or commerce, or have already obtained their results, are eligible to register for the scholarship test that is scheduled on July 25. 

The candidates can register themselves without any cost on or before July 22.

The university will conduct a 60-minutes online test that will carry questions in multiple-choice format with no negative marking.

English and general knowledge sections would be compulsory for all the students, while they can opt for other papers from their respective subjects or streams.

Meanwhile, AdtU Vice-Chancellor N C Talukdar said the university has also planned on making the scholarship an annual affair and will hold the Common Scholarship Test nationally so that all students get a chance to be benefitted through the programme.
