DIBRUGARH:

Chief Manager of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL), Manab Jyoti Dowerah, died of Covid infection at AMC Hospital, Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

Dowerah was undergoing treatment at AMCH for the last couple of days.

“We condole the sudden demise of Manab Jyoti Dowerah. He was undergoing treatment at AMCH after being tested Covid positive. Today, we heard he left us for heavily abode,” a BCPL official said.

Hailing from Jorhat district of upper Assam, Dowerah leaves behind his wife and two children.

“He was the first BCPL employee who died of Covid. We have lost one of our dedicated and sincere employees,” another BPCL employee said.

On Tuesday, Dibrugarh reported 62 COVID positive cases in 24 hours.

According to sources, Dowerah had travelled to Guwahati recently with his family and his entire family had tested positive for COVID.
