Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) in collaboration with the District Forest Division celebrated Van Mahotsav or Forest Festival in Assam's Dibrugarh district on Tuesday, and carried out a tree plantation drive to mark the occasion.

Managing Director of BCPL, Reep Hazarika along with other senior officials took part in the plantation drive to create awareness about environmental conservation.

The programme also witnessed the participation of district forest officials including Assistant Conservator of Forest, Golap Kumar Boniya.

It may be mentioned that Van Mahotsav is celebrated every year in the first week of July, during which trees are planted across the country.

BCPL maintained that the company is committed to sustainable development and has accorded top priority to environmental considerations throughout all phases, from concept to commissioning its operation.
