Assam: Aadhaar card racket busted in Dibrugarh

Police said that they were arrested from the residence of Atiquor Rahman of Paltan Bazar fish market.

DIBRUGARH:

Dibrugarh police busted an illegal Aadhaar card centre at Paltan Bazar in Dibrugarh on Sunday.

Three persons were detained and identified as Dipen Doley (29), Bitupan Deori (27) and Aibi Deori (30) of Lakhimpur.

Police said that they were arrested from the residence of Atiquor Rahman of Paltan Bazar fish market.

“We have detained five persons in connection with the illegal Aadhaar card centre functioning in Dibrugarh. We have seized cash worth Rs 5000 and computer, laptop and documents,” said Officer-in-charge Dibrugarh police station Rajiv Saikia.
