Arunachal Pradesh: 32 drug addicts voluntarily surrender at a drug de-addiction centre

SP Changlang Mihin Gambo visited the temporary drug de-addiction centre being run under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan at Jongphohate village in Yatdam circle, Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

As many as 32 drug-addicted villagers voluntarily surrendered their bamboo pipes used for drug consumption on Monday and pledged to undergo drug de-addiction in first batch. 

As a token of love Changlang district police donated one carrom board at the de-addiction centre.

SP Changlang, Mihin Gambo, visited the temporary drug de-addiction centre being run under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan at Jongphohate village in Yatdam circle, Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

"This initiative will encourage others. Changlang district is affected due to Opium addicts. However, many addicts have decided to leave opium consumption," said a source.

Meanwhile, the state government has undertaken many awareness initiatives on drug addiction. 

Recently, the state government went all out against the government employees who are addicted to drugs. The government has made it mandatory for them to report their drug addiction to senior officers.
