Arunachal Pradesh: Self-Help Groups get vehicles under government-sponsored schemes

The vehicles funded by the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) under Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY) were given to three SHGs namely Ane of Mumtaj Colony, Irsi Artong and Nola Bari of Mebo Block.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mebo, Einstein Koyu, flagged off three vehicles for the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of Mebo Block on April 24, during a formal programme.

The vehicles funded by the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) under Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY) were given to three SHGs namely Ane of Mumtaj Colony, Irsi Artong and Nola Bari of Mebo Block.

While flagging off the vehicles, Koyu highlighted the importance of the commercial vehicles funded by ArSRLM.

Koyu also motivated the SHG women folks to generate sufficient income from the government-funded vehicles by helping the community in public transportation services.

The members of the three SHGs thanked the government for the support extended to them, and they assured for proper use of the vehicles to serve the community and generate livelihood.

It may be mentioned that the Government of India is providing an alternative source of livelihood to members of SHGs under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) by facilitating them to operate public transport services or related services in backward rural areas on a pilot basis.
