ITANAGAR:

The Arunachal Pradesh Congress party on Sunday alleged that the BJP-led State Govt is hatching a bigger conspiracy behind the Kimin fiasco.

The fact-finding team (FFT)of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), led by its vice president Techi Tegi Tara, had visited the Kimin subdivision wherein the inauguration programme of the 20-km Kimin-Potin road, constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), had taken place on June 17.

“It is to identify that the Kimin-Potin road inauguration was held under the revenue jurisdiction of Papum Pare deputy commissioner, GoAP. Whereas Bilgarh in Assam, as announced in the BRO road inauguration programme itinerary is approximately 17 kilometres away from the zero-point of the road which is adjacent to the office of the additional deputy commissioner of Kimin, GoAP,” the APCC said.

It further added that despite protests from the public, the covering of the old signboard, and foundation stone representing Kimin, Arunachal Pradesh, was wilfully done and shown as Assam territory by BRO.

The Congress also stated that Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu, had met Project Arunank Chief Engineer, Brigadier AS Chonker, on June 14, three days before the Kimin-Potin road work was inaugurated.“In such circumstances, the CM would have known all the foul play,” the party alleged.

Further demanding a proper investigation, the APCC maintained that the culprits must be charged, as per the law of the land.

Meanwhile, the APCC also demanded an explanation call from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Sports and Youth Minister Kiren Rijjiju, and Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu.
