Nagaland's Telongjem FC end National Futsal Championship campaign with a win over TRAU FC

Telongjem FC from Nagaland ended their campaign in the (AIFF) Hero Futsal Club Championship 2021-22 with an empathetic 12-8 victory over Manipur's TRAU FC in New Delhi on November 10.

The team from Mokokchung, however, failed to qualify for the semifinal following defeat in the first two matches of the championship. The team lost their first match against Delhi FC by 16-6, and went down against 7Wasa United SC 8-2 in the second match.

Speaking to AIFF media team after the match, coach Tia said that the championship will play the role of a perfect catalyst to promote the game (Futsal) across Nagaland.

"The championship has been a huge platform for the team, and the players will promote and develop the beautiful game (futsal) once they are back to Nagaland," he said.

The AIFF had invited Telongjem FC to play in the first edition of the Hero Futsal Club Championship 2021-22 after they (Telongjem FC) were crowned champions of the 1st Nagaland Futsal Championship 2021

Notably, Telongjem FC is the first team to have qualified for the maiden edition of the Hero Futsal Club Championship organised by AIFF.

The championship that started on November 5 will conclude on November 13, 2021.
