BCCI fixes date for resumption of Indian Premier League in UAE

The first game, after the IPL was stopped due to the COVID pandemic, will be played on September 19, while the final will be held on October 15, 2021, the day India will be celebrating Dusshera this year.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has fixed the date for the resumption of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be held in the UAE.

The first game, after the IPL was stopped due to the COVID pandemic, will be played on September 19, while the final will be held on October 15, 2021, the day India will be celebrating Dusshera this year.

The BCCI has stated that after discussions with the Emirates Cricket Board, the remaining matches for the IPL will be conducted successfully in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

As regards the availability of foreign players, the BCCI said that foreign players will be available for the season, and discussion on the same is going on with the respective international cricket boards.
