Centre to discuss proposals for conducting Class XII & entrance exams

Given the prevailing situation, almost all the State Education Boards, CBSE and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) have postponed their Class 12th examinations this year.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair a high-level virtual meeting on Sunday to discuss the proposals for conducting the Class 12th and entrance examinations for professional courses.

According to AIR news, all the States and Union Territories’ Education Ministers, Education Secretaries and Chairpersons of State Examination Boards and stakeholders will participate in the meeting. 

Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar will also attend the meeting.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank informed that the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education and Central Board of School Education (CBSE) are exploring options regarding the conduct of examinations keeping in view the safety and security of the students and the teachers amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Given the prevailing situation, almost all the State Education Boards, CBSE and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) have postponed their Class 12th examinations this year.

Similarly, the National Testing Agency and other national exam-conducting institutions have also postponed the entrance exams for admissions to professional courses.
