Tokyo Olympics athletes is a reflection of New India: PM Modi

During his interaction, Modi praised the athletes, stating that their boldness, calmness and unity is a reflection of New India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, interacted with the Tokyo Olympics contingent of India and said that people from across the nation are cheering for their favourite players through NamoApp.


During his interaction, Modi praised the athletes, stating that their boldness, calmness and unity is a reflection of New India. 


He added that 135 crore Indians are supporting players participating in Tokyo Olympics.


Furthermore, he said that Khelo India and Fit India showcase the true spirit of sports of New India.


He informed that a committee was formed for Olympics a few years back. “All players are getting trained with the best-quality equipment and international exposure,” the PM said. 


Terming archer Deepika Kumari’s journey as special, Modi said from a bamboo bow a modern bow gradually, Deepika’s journey was indeed inspiring. 


He also praised world-renowned boxer Mary Kom, who encourages her children to stay brave and fight these COVID times bravely, archer Pravin Jadhav, badminton player P. V. Sindhu and sprinter Dutee Chand besides others.
