Tata Steel to continue salaries for COVID victims' families till retirement

Besides, Tata Steel has also said that if an employee gets infected while on the job and dies, the company will bear all the expenses of their children's education till they graduate.

Tata group of companies, the name that is synonymous with employee centricity and introducing some of the best work reforms among private companies in India, has stood on top when it comes to employee satisfaction and job security.

Standing up to its name, one of the group companies Tata Steel has announced social security schemes for the family members of employees affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company on May 23 announced that under the company's scheme for employee benefit if an employee dies of COVID-19, the family of the deceased will receive the last drawn salary till the time the employee would have turned 60 or retirement age.

 "Tata Steel's best-in-class social security schemes will help ensure an honourable standard of living for their families, whereby the family will get the last drawn salary till 60 years of age of the deceased employee/nominee," the company said in a statement released on social media. 

The company further added that the family of the deceased will also be able to avail medical benefits and housing facilities.

Besides, Tata Steel has also said that if an employee gets infected while on the job and dies, the company will bear all the expenses of their children's education till they graduate.
