Mamata Banerjee takes oath as West Bengal CM for the third time

A 'Guard of Honour' was arranged for the TMC chief Mamata Banerjee at the VIP entry of Nabanna, the state secretariat in Kolkata.

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee took oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the third time at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata.

The event took place at 10:45 am on Wednesday and was a low key event given the COVID situation. 

A 'Guard of Honour' was arranged for the TMC chief Mamata Banerjee at the VIP entry of Nabanna, the state secretariat in Kolkata.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Mamata Banerjee on being sworn in as the CM of West Bengal. 

"Congratulations to Mamata Didi for taking oath as West Bengal's Chief Minister," Modi tweeted. 

"Polls during the last three months had been an administration that was not me," CM Mamata Banerjee said, thereby hinting of securing reforms in the administration shortly.

The CM further said that there was some infrequent violence and, a new administration will be set up to avoid mismanagement.

Mamata also declared that she will hold an emergency meeting on COVID-19 after moving to Nabanna.
