India's COVID-19 active caseload below 10 lakhs after 66 days

More than 2.81 crore patients have recovered from the virus across the country so far.

NEW DELHI:

India has reported 70,421 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours which is the lowest after 74 days, the Union Health Ministry, on Monday, informed.

The active caseload has come down the 10 lakh mark after 66 days, which is currently at  9,73,158.

After 1,19,501 patients recovered on Sunday, the recovery rate has further increased to 95.43%. 
More than 2.81 crore patients have recovered across the country so far.
 
The number of deaths due to COVID-19 as reported on Sunday is 3,921, taking the total tally to 3,74,305.    

Meanwhile, the number of vaccine doses administered across the country under the nationwide vaccination drive has increased to 25.48 Cr. 

The weekly positivity rate currently stands at 4.54% and the daily positivity rate stands at 4.72%, which is less than 10% for 21 days consecutively.

As of Sunday, 14,92,152 samples have been inoculated, taking the cumulative total samples tested to 37.96 crores.
