GUWAHATI:

Assam government employees who have been administered two doses of COVID-19 vaccine have to join office from Monday, an order issued by the general administration department here on Sunday stated.

“In order to ensure smooth functioning of government offices, all the employees of government of Assam who have received both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine are hereby directed to attend office from 14/06/2021 regularly,” the order issued by commissioner and secretary, general administration department, M.S Manivannan stated.

The decision by the department comes amid the “partial” lockdown in the state even as the COVID situation has shown some improvement with the positivity rate drastically coming down and till Saturday evening hovering just a little over the 2 percent mark.

The order further stated that the eligible employees have to follow all COVID-related protocols issued by the government while rejoining the work after more than a month since the restrictions were imposed.

Currently, curfew has been clamped across the state from 1 pm to 5 am (next day) with shops and commercial establishments permitted to open only till 12 noon on all days.

Inter-district transport services and movement of people to and from other districts remain suspended.
