Indian wrestlers were stopped from travelling to Sofia, Bulgaria, for the final Olympic qualification after the Netherlands Government imposed a travel ban amid rising COVID-19 cases.

Indian wrestlers were stopped from travelling to Sofia, Bulgaria, for the final Olympic qualification scheduled to be held from May 6 to 9 after the Netherlands Government imposed a travel ban amid rising COVID-19 cases.


The 10-member wrestling team includes Amit Dhankar (74 kg), Satyawart Kadian (97 kg), Sumit Malik (125 kg), Seema (50 kg), Nisha (68 kg), and Pooja (76 kg).


KLM Airlines cancelled their tickets and promptly informed the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Tuesday evening.


Meanwhile, a 17-member team will travel from Delhi to Sofia on Wednesday.
