India records 50,040 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, recovery rate at 96.75 pc

The country also recorded 57,944 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as recoveries continue to outnumber the positivity cases for the 45th consecutive day in a row.

NEW DELHI:

India reported as many as 50,040 new COVID-19 cases with 1,258 deaths in the last 24 hours on Sunday, the Union Health Ministry informed.

The country also recorded 57,944 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as recoveries continue to outnumber the positive cases for the 45th consecutive day in a row.

Meanwhile, the active caseload in the country has dropped to 5,86,403 cases with a recovery rate of 96.75 per cent, informed the Union Health Ministry.

According to the health ministry, India has administered 32.17 crore vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
