India records 1,86,364 fresh COVID-19 cases in last 24 hrs, lowest in 6 weeks

On the same day, India recorded 3,660 COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total death toll to 3,18,895.

India reported as many as 1,86.364 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours on Friday, which is also the lowest daily new cases reported in the last 44 days.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the daily positivity rate in the country has gone down by 9 per cent after Friday's figure.

Further, the active caseload in the country has reduced to 23,43,152, with a net decline of 76,755 cases in the last 24 hours.

The Union Health Ministry stated that recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 15th consecutive day, as India witnessed 2,59,459 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The total recovery tally in India has reached 2,48,93,410 with a recovery rate of 90.34 per cent.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 20,70,508 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country.

In addition to that, nearly 20.57 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, the Union Health Ministry said.
