India logs 35,342 new COVID-19 cases, 483 deaths in last 24 hours

The country's active cases of COVID-19 also decreased by 3,881 and were logged at 4,05,513 accounting for 1.3 per cent of the total cases India has recorded.

NEW DELHI:

India registered as many as 35,342 new COVID-19 cases, including 483 COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours on Friday, informed the Union Health Ministry.

The country's active cases of COVID-19 also decreased by 3,881 and were logged at 4,05,513 accounting for 1.3 per cent of the total cases India has recorded.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the country recorded 38,740 recoveries within the same period taking the total recoveries to 30,468,079 so far.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data revealed that 45,29,39,545 samples for COVID-19 have been tested to date, of which 16,68,561 were tested in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the country's recovery rate has reached 97.36 per cent, with the daily positivity rate standing at 2.12 per cent.

Data from the Union Health Ministry also showed that India has administered a total of 42,34,17,030 doses of COVID-19 vaccine under the nationwide vaccination drive, of which 54,76,423 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
