CBSE extends deadline for schools to finalise class 12 results

The Central Board of School Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for schools to finalise the results of class 12 board exams from July 22 to July 25, following requests from teachers' involved in the assessment process.

The CBSE has in this regard issued a letter stating that the teachers involved in finalising the results are under stress, getting panicky and committing mistakes given the deadline.

"In view of these problems, the board has decided to extend the deadline to 5 pm on July 25," the letter mentioned.

The CBSE has also informed that for schools failing to complete the moderation process by July 25, their results will be declared separately, giving them time to complete the assessment in a proper way.

In addition to the extension of the dates, the CBSE also announced that class 12 examination for private candidates would be held between August 16 and September 15, 2021.

Earlier, the CBSE had cancelled the class 12 board examination due to the COVID situation, and formulated a tabulation policy to assess students using previous years’ marks, as well as internal and practical scores.

The CBSE has also announced that after the schools finalise the results, the final board results will be declared by July 31.
