CoWIN to be made available in Hindi and other regional languages; Health Ministry

Vardhan also said that the production of Remdesivir has been tripled in the country and the government is scaling up the manufacture of Amphotericin-B to treat COVID fungal Infections.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Monday said that the CoWIN portal will be made available in Hindi and 14 other regional languages by next week.

The minister was chairing the 26th meeting of the Group of Ministers (GOM) on the COVID situation in the country, wherein he highlighted the upcoming infrastructural developments to deal with the COVID pandemic.

Besides making the website portal more convenient to use, Vardhan also stated that 17 more Labs to be added to the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Consortia (INSACOG) network to monitor variants of COVID. 

Vardhan also said that the production of Remdesivir has been tripled in the country and the government is scaling up the manufacture of Amphotericin-B to treat COVID fungal Infections.
