NEW DELHI:

The Government of India has announced that it is opening the process of vaccine registration for all adults above the age of 18 from April 24 (Saturday) onwards.

All eligible for the vaccination can register themselves on the Co-Win portal at cowin.gov.in.

Earlier on April 19, the government had announced the "Liberalised and Accelerated" Phase 3 strategy for vaccinations against the coronavirus under which all adults will be eligible for inoculations from May 1.

The decision to extend vaccinations to all has been taken given the present situation of COVID-19 in the country.

As India faces the world's worst COVID-19 surge, the government is taking all measures to contain the spread of the virus at the earliest.
