The vaccines will be available for beneficiaries of all age group including those between 18-44 years, the union government announced.

With the ongoing vaccination drive in the country, the move will further strengthen and ramp up the nationwide inoculation drive that started in January.

Further, the States and Union Territories will not have to pay any amount for the procurement of vaccines as the centre will bear all the expenses for the same.

The announcement which was made on June 7 to provide States/UTs with 75 per cent of the vaccine doses will cost the centre over Rs 15,000 crore, more than its previously allocated  Rs 35,000 crore for the vaccination programme in the current financial year, the union government has informed.
