Centre releases 3rd monthly instalment of PDRD Grant to 17 states

With the third instalment of the PDRD Grant, a total amount of Rs 29,613 crore has been released in the first three months of the current financial year to different states.

NEW DELHI:

The Union Government on Wednesday released the third monthly instalment of the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant amounting to 9,871 crore for the current financial year.

The grants are being recommended under the 15th Finance Commission to meet the gap in Revenue Accounts of the States post-devolution. 

The states recommended for the PDRD Grant include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

With the third instalment of the PDRD Grant, a total amount of Rs 29,613 crore has been released in the first three months of the current financial year to different states.

The PDRD grants are made available to the states under Article 275 of the constitution, as grants in aid of the revenues of such states as Parliament may determine to be in need of assistance.
