Centre provides over 29 crores 35 lakh vaccine doses to States, UTs so far

The vaccines have been provided both through the Centre's free of cost channel and through the direct state procurement category.

NEW DELHI: 

The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry informed that the Centre has provided more than 29 crores 35 lakh vaccine doses to the States and the Union Territories so far. 


The vaccines have been provided both through the Centre's free of cost channel and through the direct state procurement category. 


With the onset of the new free vaccination campaign, the Centre will further provide 75 per cent of the total vaccines free of cost to all the States and Union Territories.


Meanwhile, the Health Ministry added that more than two crores 98 lakh COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States and UTs to be administered.

A total of 28,00,36,898 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive which started in January.
