NEW DELHI:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare the results of the Class 10 Board exams, which were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on June 20.

CBSE had cancelled the Class 10 Board Exams 2021 because of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and decided that the students will be assessed based on internal assessment.

In an official mail, the board has released a policy document detailing how schools will assess and award marks to students and timelines to follow.

The schools will evaluate and assess the students based on the criteria and submit the marks by June 5.

In the circular dated May 1, 2021, internal assessment marks out of 20, as already awarded by the schools, will remain as it is. For the remaining 80 marks, the schools will give students a weighted average where ten marks will be from their periodic tests, 30 from Half Yearly and 40 from Pre-boards.

To ensure a fair evaluation, schools have been asked to form a Result Committee, including the Principal of the school along with seven members.

The seven-member team will include a school teacher, each of Mathematics, Social Science, Science, and two languages. Apart from this, there will also be two teachers from a neighbouring school who will act as external members.
