Dibrugarh Police led by SP Shwetank Mishra in two joint operations with CRPF arrested 5 accused and seized a huge quantity of narcotic drugs, ganja, gold jewellery and cash.

Meghalaya Health Minister A.L. Hek informed that the highly infectious COVID-19 Variant of Concern (VOC) has been detected in Meghalaya, and the threat of rapid spread is very high.

The annual Ambubachi Mela at the historic Kamakhya Temple will not have any congregation of devotees, sadhus and tourists keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation and as a preventive measure against the spread of the virus.
