Sikkim reports 105 fresh COVID-19 cases

A total number of 6,014 people have recovered from the disease to date, and 136 patients have succumbed to the infection.

GANGTOK:

Sikkim reported a total of 105 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the state's total active tally to 399, a health bulletin issued by the government informed.

The new infections include 44 students and two staff members of Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Rabongla, South Sikkim.

Sikkim's Information Education and Communication (IEC) member Sonam Bhutia said that South Sikkim registered the highest number of new cases at 53, followed by 43 in East Sikkim, five in North Sikkim and four in West Sikkim.

A total number of 6,014 people have recovered from the disease to date, and 136 patients have succumbed to the infection.

A total of 87,574 samples have been tested so far in the state, including 435 in the last 24 hours.
